Art - Bachelor of Arts in Art
The BA in Art combines theoretical and practical approaches to studying the arts through diverse global and historical perspectives, interpretation and critical thinking, and creative expression. Students select a concentration in one of the following areas:
-
Art History
-
Fashion Design
-
Studio Art
In each concentration students consider works of art and fashion from the perspective of their formal and material compositions, their content, and their context of use–all crucial for navigating today’s complex and dynamic visual culture. Required courses in writing, artistic and design practice, historical investigation, and business and entrepreneurship, as well as opportunities for both reflective and collaborative learning, allow students to achieve marketable competencies for a range of career paths.
Students are encouraged to combine the BA in Art with other majors, co-majors, or minors. Additional majors must have fifteen (15) unique credits, co-majors must have twelve (12) unique credits, and minors must have nine (9) unique credits.
Students may also elect to complete a double concentration within the BA in Art.
