Chemical Engineering Minor

For information, contact the Department of Chemical, Paper and Biomedical Engineering, 64 Engineering Building, 513-529-0760.

The objective of this program is to expand the educational opportunities of Miami students into the traditional discipline of chemical engineering. The minor provides an understanding of basic chemical engineering principles, concepts, and methodologies and how they are applied to the design and performance analysis of industrial processes. This minor is for students not majoring in Chemical Engineering.

A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 is required for all courses in the minor. Eighteen to twenty semester hours beyond the prerequisite chemistry, physics, and mathematics are required. None of these courses may be taken on a credit/no credit basis.

Students must have a grade of C or better in  CHM 142  and  PHY 191 .
