Performing Arts - Bachelor of Arts
The Bachelor of Arts in Performing Arts is intended for students who wish to pursue the study of theatre, dance, and live entertainment situated within a liberal arts tradition. The undergraduate program is committed to developing creative thinkers with artistic vision and relevant skills through a program that emphasizes the interplay between critical thinking and artistic practice.
Students select a concentration in one of the following areas:
- Theatre
- Dance
- Entertainment Design & Technology
In each concentration students consider both the theory and practice of their artforms, developing both specific artistic skills and competencies as well as an understanding of context.
Students are encouraged to combine the BA in Performing Arts with other majors, co-majors, or minors. All courses must be taken for a grade.
Program Requirements
(54 semester hours)
Students complete the Core Curriculum and at least one concentration.
Please note that courses listed in more than one category may only be used to fulfill ONE requirement. No course may fulfill a requirement in both the core and concentration.
Only four credit hours of courses taken by students enrolled in the dance minor or music theatre minor may also count toward requirements in the BA in Performing Arts.
