Principal Licensure Graduate Certificate
The Principal Licensure Graduate Certificate offers students who have an M.Ed the opportunity to earn the coursework required for the Ohio Principal License issued by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. Coursework, grounded in the Principles of the Department of Educational Leadership, provides students with engaging learning opportunities, including a principal internship with the student's principal, to meet the multi-dimensional challenges and opportunities of school district governance.
Students' graduate transcript(s) will be reviewed to determine the courses needed to meet the certificate requirements. Students must complete 20 credits or document their equivalent to earn the certificate.
Additional requirements for the Ohio Principal license include two years of verified full time experience working under an Ohio teaching, school psychologist, or related student services license. Students must also pass the administrative licensing exam (015) offered through the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
